Mike comes from a contracting family business where his father ran a large General Contracting
business. After a successful Division 1 College Football experience, Mike played five years of
professional football with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
in the Canadian Football League, winning a Grey Cup
Championship in 1986. After his football career ended, Mike joined IBM in Chicago as a System
Engineer and then as a Product Consultant with software developer JD Edwards. However, it wasn’t
long
after he graduated from Northwestern University in 1992 with a MBA, that Mike decided to return to his
contracting roots. Mike began his HVAC career in 1992 buying Arrow Heating & Air Conditioning in
Racine, Wisconsin. By 1996,
the company had grown over 500% and Mike decided to sell the company
to Service Experts. Mike took over as SVP of Operations for the US Eastern Region of Service Experts,
managing over $175 million in annual revenues in 10 States. After leaving
Service Experts in 2001, Mike
began a career as a consultant and trainer to HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical contracting businesses
throughout the United States and Canada. In May 2018, Mike bought a small HVAC & Plumbing
company in Colorado
Springs and incorporating the training philosophies and strategies he supported in
his consulting practice, to grow the company from $600,000 in revenues in 2017, to over $17.8 million in
revenues in 2022, earning a #498 ranking on the Inc 5000
